I have worked with Merrie Fredericks and her company Design Concepts for the past 17 years. We started with a couple of small painting and wallpaper jobs in my townhouse. She has an unerring eye for what looks right, can always find samples that fit my taste and has assembled a team that can put her vision into practice. Her attention to detail is superb! After the townhouse, we moved on to a variety of projects over the 12 years that I lived in a single family house. These ranged from redoing all of the bathrooms, renovating the kitchen, adding a sun room, dressing room and outdoor living space, painting and papering. As before, Merrie made the projects fun and relatively easy to handle by providing guidance with my choices and overseeing that all of the work got completed on time and to perfection. Prior to construction, she provided detailed drawings showing exactly how the finished project would look. She was able to incorporate the work of local craftsmen so that each completed project was unique. For example, my master bathroom incorporated a floral tile design done by a local artist in both the shower and tub areas. One of the showers had sandblasted glass doors echoing the pattern in the room’s wallpaper. My dressing room evolved from wasted space under the roof and was designed to perfectly fit all of my clothes. Visitors never failed to comment on how unique and beautiful her work was.
