Modern Master Suite

Our clients asked us to combine an existing small master bath and an existing bedroom into a larger en-suite combining a walk-in closet with a master bath. The long and narrow space made it challenging to incorporate (2) vanities, a free standing soaking tub, a separate shower and private toilet room, all of which were requested by the clients. From the start we were limited to the placement of the toilet, so we had to design the rest of the space around the private toilet room. One of the biggest challenges was to create an enclosed private space, allowing it to feel visually open and unobtrusive to the rest of the bathroom. After a few design options, we agreed on a partially high wall which allowed enough privacy, yet wasn’t completely enclosed. Another creative modern design element was the way the makeup vanity continued into the shower, and acted as the shower dam on which the shower glass rests on. The large modern free standing tub is located by the window and allows our clients to enjoy the scenery while relaxing in the tub. The walk-in closet is accessible from the bedroom as well as the bathroom. The dual bathroom entrance allows the husband or wife to exit the bathroom/dressing area without disturbing the other in the bedroom. The grey, white and lavender color palette emphasizes the modern design and unifies the separate areas.
